2025 Gila Invasive Species Removal Interest Form

2025 Gila Invasive Species Removal Interest Form

New Mexico Wild is teaming up with Heart of the Gila to treat infestations of invasive, exotic plants such as bull thistle, musk thistle, tree of heaven, and more. We’ll be targeting key species of concern for their detrimental effects on native ecosystems; many of these plants displace important and vulnerable native flora that play key roles, including as habitat and food sources for native fauna.

Throughout the months of May and June, our Wilderness Rangers will be hosting a series of projects targeting different plants across several locations, ranging from accessible front-country sites to hikes into more remote terrain.

Join us to make a difference in taking care of this precious wild landscape! Sign up below to receive updates as these projects get posted to our events page.
