We're hosting a 3 day, 2 night volunteer project to rehabilitate large campsites near alpine lakes in the Wheeler Peak Wilderness! With your help, we'll work to minimize the impact and footprint of large campsites in this Wilderness area.
The Plan
We'll meet near Taos Ski Valley at 9:00 am on Friday, August 4th for a safety briefing where we'll distribute tools and PPE needed for the project and train you on how to use them safely and effectively. We'll be backpacking a total of 8 miles split between 2 days. Please bring all of your backpacking gear, breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all days, as well as sunscreen, gloves, and sturdy footwear. We will provide extra water and snacks.
