At Manzano Mountain Wilderness
New Mexico Wilderness Alliance is clearing the northern sections of the Manzano Crest Trail No. 170 on July 8-9th. We will be clearing brush where the trail is overgrown and difficult to navigate.
Plan to meet at the Fourth of July campground at 8 am. (Camping on the night of the 7th is an option too!) Tools and PPE will be distributed here, and we will discuss safety protocols. Please bring water vessels that can hold at least 3-4 liters, sunscreen, gloves, boots with ankle support, camping equipment, and a day pack. Please bring meals and snacks for both days. We will have extra snacks and plenty of water.
Come check out the diversity of this wilderness area. You might see the pink Sandia alumroot in bloom this time of year!
