Please join us for a special Wilderness Defenders mission to the wild and beautiful Continental Divide Wilderness Study Area (CD WSA). In the remote northeastern corner of the Gila Region, just north of the Black Range, the CD WSA is a unique landscape home to rolling hills, big skies, and increasingly rare, well-preserved grasslands. Elk and Antelope—for which the area is prized—dot the golden hillsides. Unfortunately, user-created OHV trails and vehicular incursion into the WSA have expanded in recent years impacting the area’s wild character. Please help us map and document these impacts as an important first step toward better management of this special place. Wilderness Defender training will be included on the first day.
