New Mexico Wild invites artists of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels to submit original artwork for our 2026 Mexican Gray Wolf Conservation Stamp Contest. All two-dimensional drawings, paintings, or photographs featuring the Mexican gray wolf are welcome. The winning artwork from the adult category will be printed on the collectable 2026 Mexican Wolf Conservation Stamp, which will be sold to support Mexican gray wolf conservation and education programs.

Entries will be separated into an adult category and a youth category for artists 15 years old or younger. Please indicate in your submission if you are 15 or under.

In addition to supporting conservation efforts, the winner will receive $250, second place $100, and third place a swag pack from New Mexico Wild. The winner of the youth category will receive $50 and a Wild Guide: Passport to New Mexico Wilderness.  You can view and purchase winning Mexican Wolf Conservation Stamps from previous years in our online store. We also encourage you to learn more about our work to protect this vital subspecies and explore other ways you can get involved in the recovery of the Mexican gray wolf population in New Mexico!

Contest Terms & Conditions:

Please read the following rules and guidelines carefully before submitting your artwork:

Artwork Specifications:

All submitted artwork must be scalable to the size of the stamp: 4.5-inches wide by 5.5-inches tall.
Artwork should be display-ready upon request.

Submission Requirements:

Submissions must include a high-resolution electronic image of the art.
Provide a title for your artwork.
Mention the medium used to create the artwork.
If applicable, provide the original dimensions of the artwork.
Include your contact information (name, email address, and phone number).
Open to U.S. residents only.

No generative AI will be accepted.

Permissions and Usage Rights:

By submitting your art to the New Mexico Wild Art Contest, you grant New Mexico Wild permission to use your artwork digitally and in print with your name, even if your entry is not selected as a winner. The purpose of usage includes promotional and educational materials related to New Mexico Wild’s mission.

Selection Process:

Winners will be selected through an internal voting process.
Winners will be contacted via email on Monday, March 16th, 2026.
The results will be announced publicly on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026.

Prizes:

First Place: $250 cash prize
Second Place: $100 cash prize
Third Place: New Mexico Wild swag pack

First Place Youth: $50 cash prize and a Wild Guide: Passport to New Mexico Wilderness

Originality and Plagiarism:

Submitted artworks must be original creations of the entrants. Plagiarized or copied artworks will be disqualified. No generative AI will be considered.

Disqualification:

New Mexico Wild reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the contest rules or is deemed inappropriate for public display.
