The Gila: river, place, family

The Gila River and the surrounding region have been home to Indigenous people and other traditional communities for centuries, and now for all of those folks under the United States since 1912. This river along with The San Francisco River and The Mimbres River were just proposed for Wild and Scenic River protection under federal legislation reintroduced by Senators Martin Heinrich and Ben Ray Luján.

This is a river of families, lineages and gathering.
