Join New Mexico Wild and Los Poblanos for a special evening lecture Protecting New Mexico’s Rivers. Guests are invited to visit the Library Bar at La Quinta at 4:30 before the talk begins at 5:30 PM.
Rivers run through the heart of New Mexico, shaping our history, culture, and sense of place. Los Poblanos and New Mexico Wild share a commitment to preserving and celebrating these natural assets that are of such importance in the Rio Grande River Valley, and across the state. Join us for a lively conversation celebrating the launch of Wild Waters: Passport to New Mexico’s Rivers.
Conservation Director Bjorn Fredrickson will explore why New Mexico’s rivers matter now more than ever, at a moment when only a fraction of the state’s 108,000 miles of rivers enjoy permanent protection. From whitewater runs to quiet canyon streams, this evening’s talk will highlight the beauty, ecology, and urgency of protecting our waterways. New Mexico Wild’s Rivers and Waters Program Director Tricia Snyder will discuss the current state of water policy in New Mexico and river protection efforts.
