Join New Mexico Wilderness Ranger, Nico, for a guided 4.4-mile hike on the Chamisa Trail in the Santa Fe National Forest. This scenic trail winds through beautiful ponderosa pine forest and offers sweeping mountain views. Along the way, we’ll talk about how federal efforts to roll back the Roadless Rule threaten wild areas like this one, and what we can do to help protect them.
Plan for 3–4 hours on the trail, including a break for lunch at the halfway point. Please come prepared for narrow trail sections, rocky footing, and some elevation gain.
Wear hiking shoes or boots with good tread and bring plenty of water, sunscreen, snacks, and a packed lunch. All ages are welcome.
