Join New Mexico Wild and partner organizations in Silver City for The People’s Public Hearings to Protect Our Roadless Forests, a community gathering to make sure your voice is heard on the future of New Mexico’s national forests. The Roadless Rule protects 45 million acres of national forest land and was built on overwhelming public support through more than 600 public hearings nationwide. Now the U.S. Forest Service is moving to undo that rule — without holding a single public meeting.
We’re joining with partner organizations to host our own hearing in Silver City to make sure citizens still get a say. Come learn what’s at stake for New Mexico’s wild places, hear how the rule change could affect the forests you love, and find out how you can speak up to protect them.
