Join New Mexico Wild in Pecos for The People’s Public Hearings to Protect Our Roadless Forests, a community gathering to make sure your voice is heard on the future of New Mexico’s national forests. The Roadless Rule protects 45 million acres of national forest land and was built on overwhelming public support through more than 600 public hearings nationwide. Now the U.S. Forest Service is moving to undo that rule — without holding a single public meeting.
We’re hosting our own hearing in Pecos to make sure citizens still get a say. Come learn what’s at stake for New Mexico’s wild places, hear how the rule change could affect the forests you love, and find out how you can speak up to protect them.
Date: Wednesday, September 16th
Time: 5:30 – 7:00 pm
Location: Pecos Municipal Building, 92 S Main Street. 87552
