Join The Venture Out Project, New Mexico Wild, and Latino Outdoors for a Sunset Scorpion Stroll on the west side of Albuquerque! We’ll meet at 8pm for sunset and snacks then start our walk and scorpion spotting at 8:30pm.

We ask folks under the age of 18 to please register themselves and an adult to accompany them. This event is intended for BIPOC folks and the LGBTQ+ community. If you require a service dog to attend, please let us know and we’ll collaborate with you on how to keep you both comfortable and hydrated at this event.

I UNDERSTAND AND ASSUME THE RISKS of participating in this Event, Outing, or Volunteer Project (“Activity”).

I AGREE TO RELEASE THE NEW MEXICO WILDERNESS ALLIANCE, AND ITS EMPLOYEES, DIRECTORS, AND AGENTS, FROM LEGAL LIABILITY for any Injuries or Damages I may experience due to my participation in this Activity, as a result of negligence or other reasons, to the fullest extent allowed by law.

I understand that during my participation in this Activity, I may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, foreseen or unforeseen, which are inherent in this type of Activity. These hazards and risks cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of the Activity. These risks include, but are not limited to, personal injury, property damage, or death (“Injuries or Damages”). Injuries or Damages can result from natural causes or actions of animals or people, including myself, trip members, trip leaders, or third parties, either because of negligence or other reasons. I agree to exercise extra care for myself and others in the face of such hazards. I understand that there may not be rescue or medical facilities or expertise necessary to deal with the Injuries and Damages that I may be exposed to during this Activity. The New Mexico Wilderness Alliance has not tried to contradict or minimize my understanding of these risks.

I intend for this assumption of risk and release of liability to apply to ANY MINORS who accompany me for this Activity and to my HEIRS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS. If a court finds any part of this Agreement to be invalid or legally unenforceable, I intend for the remainder of this Agreement to remain valid and enforceable.

I understand the following:

● The Activity officially begins and ends at the location(s) designated by the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance. Unless transportation is provided by the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance, the Activity does not include carpooling, transportation, or transit to and from the Activity, and I am personally responsible for all risks associated with this travel.

● If I decide to leave early and not to complete the Activity as planned, or if the leader has concluded the Activity and I decide to go forward without the leader, I am personally responsible for all risks associated with those decisions.

By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understand this document in its entirety. I voluntarily agree to assume the risks of participating in this Activity and to waive any claim I may have against the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance or its employees, directors, or agents as a result of Injuries or Damages I may experience during my participation in the Activity.
