A diverse coalition of religious and spiritual leaders from across New Mexico has joined the All Pueblo Council of Governors, Santa Fe County Commission, and the Mayor of Santa Fe in urging the creation of permanent legislative protection for the Caja del Rio.
Spanning more than 106,000 acres, this extraordinary landscape holds millennia of Indigenous history, sacred pilgrimage routes, and layers of cultural heritage—from Pueblo footpaths and the El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro to Route 66.
